I agree. True nursing is not just care for the physical needs, needful as they are, but nursing is the quiet listening, understanding. It is leaning close to hear whispered word of the weakened patient. It is stitting and holding their hand when they've been told they need an amputation. True nursing is the connection we make. The relationship that helps them get through those rough days when they have no one else to give them hope or stand by their side. Let us hold high the stsandard and never let that slip.
